.. but of course you could fit all the lib dems who've signed his early day motion in a taxi - because almost all our MPs are so clueless on technology - Lib Dems still out of touch on anything that hints of computergeekywotsit - that's why the conversatives contacted him and he agreed to advise them on open data and stuff.. and why the tories have commissioned a report on open source.. while the lib dems don't even have a working group.
What's especially fucked up is that we have Lynne Featherstone in charge of using interwebnet techo stuff.. but only for electioneering - nobody has responsability for any geeky policy issues from the gazillions of pounds spent on IT by government, software patents, governance of Nominet, data protection, cybercrime, ecommerce regulation, or tackling monopolies like microsoft, RM, etc.
Good lord, sometimes I think the microsofties who do the website for cornwall council really are a complete and total bunch of muppets.
The online job application has never worked in anything apart from MS Inept Exploder, because some complete tool decided that Javascript was Too Hard, and used vbscript for client side form validation - who the heck uses vbscript on web pages ??!!? muppet!
Now I noticed the cornwall.gov.uk appears in dynamoo's list of SQL Injected public sector websites that have been (until recently "fixed") spreading malware to anybody using them!
A quick google search shows that yes, at least part of the CCC website was hacked via SQL Injection, something that any developer worth hiring should know to prevent.
And just think - when our councils are all centralised, this bunch of clueless muppets will be doing the IT for all the councils. The same bunch of muppets who completely bought into Microsoft and insist on wasting money on poorly skilled staff and yet more MS licenses rather than hiring competent IT management.
